John Mellett

John is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and a graduate of both NUIG and the University of Ulster at Jordanstown where he undertook post-graduate studies in Accounting. Prior to going into practice with Noel Tyrrell in 2004 he was the Financial Controller of Supermacs Ireland. Having worked in industry for over ten years before returning to practice he brings with him a vast experience of operating business’s in modern Ireland. He has further built up an extensive knowledge base in various areas, including:

• Insolvency Services
• Tax planning

Noel Tyrrell

Noel is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland, having qualified in 1997 and is a graduate of NUIG with a B Comm (Hons) in 1993. He worked for KPMG in Dublin from 1998 to 2001 where he rose to Audit Manager level. And gained extensive experience in advising small and medium size companies. He was then employed as International Finance Manager for Bio Medical Research (BMR) in Galway from 2001 to 2003 and travelled to their locations worldwide improving reporting and internal control procedures. He qualified as a financial adviser (QFA) in 2005 and obtained diplomas in Forensic Accounting and Corporate Finance with Chartered Accountants Ireland in 2016. His main areas of expertise include:

Diarmuid Forkan

Diarmuid graduated from University of Galway with a Bachelor of Commerce before successfully achieving a Master of Accounting at University College Dublin. After training with one of the Big Four firms and successfully obtaining his Chartered Accountant examinations he joined the Castlebar office in 2022.

Marina Hanley

Marina graduated from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology with an honours degree in Accounting in 2009.

She joined the Tuam office of Mellett Tyrrell in 2011 where she undertook and completed her training contract and Qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2014. She has over ten years experience in general practice.

Linda Rogers

Linda holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology. Linda joined the Castlebar office in August 2022 and successfully completed her final Chartered Certified Accountant examinations in August 2024.

Bernadette Brennan

Bernadette graduated from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology with an honours degree in Business Studies (Accountancy). She qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 2001 and has over 22 years’ experience in General Practice.

She subsequently qualified as a Certified Tax Adviser (CTax) with CPA Ireland in 2014. Bernadette joined the Tuam office of Mellett Tyrrell in 2017.

Annemarie De Burca

Annemarie holds both a first-class honours degree in Gno agus Cumarsaid (Business and Communications) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from Galway Mayo Institute of Technology.

Annemarie joined the Tuam office of Mellett Tyrrell in 2015 and is currently undertaking her final Chartered Certified Accountant examinations.

Patricia Higgins

Patricia completed a FETAC Level 5 two-year course in Information Technology in 2016. After completing the course, Patricia secured a position with a Health Care Company as an Office Administrator and progressed to PA manager.

In November 2017, Patricia started working with Mellett Tyrrell & Co as Office Administrator / Accounts Assistant.
